This week the Bahamas took a direct hit from category 5 Hurricane Dorian, with winds that reached 180 miles per hour. This storm has battered these islands and the rebuilding process will take years.
Grand Bahama Island has 5 Rotary clubs and is a valued part of Rotary District 6990. We will do everything possible to help them recover from the devastation.

A quick update on the situation in Lee County. Clean Up in Lee County continues. EMA Officials are using heavy equipment to move and collect debris over the next several days. Volunteers will still be needed for the months to come, but for now volunteers are asked to remain home until the the debris movers have completed their assignments.

What a great meeting March 12 for the Wetumpka Rotary Club!
On January 19th, 2019 a significant portion of downtown Wetumpka was destroyed by tornadic activity. Fortunately, there were no lives lost, but the property damage was severe and extensive, including the destruction of a 150 year-old church, many homes and the Wetumpka Police Fleet.
President and Mrs. Trump surveyed the tornado ravaged Lee County area today. He extended his sympathies to the victims' families and praised local officials for a quick and measured response to the disaster.
Senator Doug Jones toured the area yesterday. He explained that cameras do not do justice to the carnage. "It just takes your breath away".
